summary and response
Researchers have found that the American family has changed in the variety of ways over the past two decades. Working parents spend longer time for their families and take care of their children more than their parents did. In addition to mothers who always act with their children, educated fathers became more important roles in raising their children. In the modern society, many couples like to get married later and delay having children. They think children are not necessary to maintain a happy marriage. In recent years, divorce has reduced. Compared with old marriage roles, the trend of marriage that people know more comfortable with their home and work to protect their marriage.
The most significant thing that I can relate to is getting married later has several ways. According to the book “Academic Encounter”, over the last two decades, the rate of single people has increased. For example, “it approximately one in twelve people live alone, and this number is expected to double over the next twenty years.” Most people are more likely to marriage later into their late twenties, even their thirties and forties. On the one hand, people who still single because the people haven’t find the right person. On the other hand, marriage must concert about promises and duty. “There are two important sociological reasons for the increase in single-hood.” First, due to the social pressure, people who get married has reduced. In addition, staying single will get a good life.
According to the article “No More Test Anxiety”, Thanh read “Help Your Child Improve in Test-Taking” to help him prevent test-taking anxiety. First, Thanh spaces his learning over a period of time. Secondly, he avoids cramming before taking tests. Instead, he gets a nice sleep. Third, he scans over all variety of questions when the test starts. Last, Thanh will face questions which he doesn’t understand, and skip them. When he finishes all questions, he comes back to them.
One idea that I can relate to is that Thanh skips questions which he does not understand is a good idea. This situation always appears in our tests. Some people will spend a lot of time to do the difficult questions. After that, they have no more time to finish all of questions. I always feel anxious when I was taking test. For example, I will stay lots of time in a high point of question until I feel anxious because the test time will over. Unfortunately, even though I solve the question, I don’t finish all questions. On the one hand, if you waste time on difficult questions or you don’t have confidently to make sure the correct answer, both them make you lost time to do what question you know and fail the test. On the other hand, when you stay in a question which you don’t unclear, it will influence your emotion.
